Providing Teacher Training

Training

Practicing newly acquired skills in their break time

We have developed excellent links with an experienced group of Nepali Teachers and University Lecturers.

Over  3 years we  funded twice yearly sessions lasting several days and have provided training for over a hundred mainly Primary school teachers from our 8 schools. In November 2014 we spent a week in the Phulkarka region observing the training and visiting the schools to see it being put into practice. The teachers were incredibly enthusiastic about the training and there was plenty of evidence of the new strategies being used in the schools.

Some of the comments from the trainees:
“I am very much grateful to KASIN for providing such useful training. I will never forget this training in my life.”

“The training was really effective. We hope such training will be conducted in the future also.

I am not happy with this training because three days is not enough! It is so inspiring. I am hoping for it to continue.”

I like your presentation too much. Such trainings are very useful for teachers. Thank you Kids at School in Nepal!”

In 2018 , 25 teachers attended a 5 day training course up at the villages. The course was  funded by KASIN and run by ECEC. Local headteachers will monitor and support the trainees during the coming year and select those that will go on to the next level.

In 2021 following discussions withe the Headmaster of Tamang Kharka and the local community we employed a young Nepali Graduate Moin Udin. He had previously worked for the INGO Teach For Nepal. He lived in the community for a year giving demonstration lessons and carrying out teacher training in Tamang Kharka Secondary School and 11 of its Primary feeder schools.
