Our Latest project – A Girl’s Hostel linked to the Agriculture College

This will be a joint venture with Italian charity Friuli Mandi building the boy’s hostel and KASIN building the girl’s

This will allow students that currently live too far away from Phulkharka to attend the college. The students will receive their board and lodging in return for working on farm. We hope that this will provide a catalyst in making  the agricultural system in the area more sustainable by reducing reliance on subsistence rice farming. Solar power and a biogas cooking system should reduce reliance on firewood with all the benefits of reducing soil erosion and managing flood risks in the catchment.

New School almost ready as trustees prepare to visit Nepal

Finishing touches are being made to the new school at Dhandakharka . Three trustees, Pat and Liz Wherity and Jill Deeley and her sister Pam are travelling to Nepal in November to open the  school. They will be joined by Howard Green from the Pahar Trust and his team.
