Following the success of our 4 existing After Schools , we have been asked by several communities to extend the project. This week we have opened our 5th and 6th After School , one at Dhandakharka, the school that KASIN provided the funds to rebuild after the earthquake, and another at Dansing
We have found that this is one of the most cost effective ways of promoting education and reducing dropout in these communities. It costs around £1,000/yr to provide 2 teachers, 6 days a week 2 or 3 hours a day. Children’s grades have hugely improved in the mainstream schools that they attend.
